Ideal flatmates

Happy to live with anyone

Description

Hi potential landlord and/or flatmate!

I'll be in London for 6 weeks, May 21st through July 1st, for a Level 3 Wine Certification intensive program at Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET), 39-45 Bermondsey St, London SE1. I would prefer to live within a 30-minute walking distance if at all possible, but finding the right fit is the most important thing for me.

I appreciate a quiet, peaceful space to relax at the end of what will be long, mentally exhausting days.

Some things about me:

• I’m a 60 year old single mom of my amazing 28 year old son whom I’ve been living with in Vienna, Austria along with our 2 Maine Coon-mix furrbabies.

• I’m a US citizen who HAD to escape the insanity of the current climate of administration in power – (and that should tell you everything about my political beliefs)

• I’ve been a life-long activist and have not only taken part in endless grassroot movements and demonstrations, but have organized and led them.

• I’ve traveled to over 50 countries (my son is on #29!)

• I’m passionate about food and wine (obviously, given that I’m going through an insanely difficult, advanced training program). I spent the better part of my career in the hospitality & non-profit industries, organizing events and fundraisers.

• I’m an excellent cook – and I’ve been pescetarian for the better part of the past 17 years. I don’t really care what others eat, but if I’m cooking, it’s going to be predominantly vegetarian with an occasional fish dish.

• I love music, theatre, & art, and have been to more concerts on more continents than most. It *may be an obsession, but it’s part of what gives my life meaning and joy in a world that can often be lacking in either.

• Some of my other “hats” that I wear:

◦ I’ve been a relationship/life coach for almost 30 years – really only doing it part time because as an American, paying for independent health insurance is insanely expensive, thus the need to work for others.

◦ I’ve been an interfaith officiant and humanist celebrant for 25 years – I write and perform customized ceremonies for weddings, celebration of life services, baby namings, and all sorts of other life transition celebrations.

◦ I’m an author in 3 compilation books, and am currently a writer for a newly launching women’s magazine.

Ok, I’m starting to feel like this is sounding like a dating profile! ;)

***Oh, I should mention that I am part of the LGBTQ+ community, though my soul person passed 5 years ago, and I’m not looking to replace them (it’s not possible.)

Assuming all goes well with my Level 3 certification, I’ll be back in August for about 10 months to complete my Level 4 Wine Certification (I’ve been teaching wine education classes in the states for decades, and this is now a formal up-leveling on my credentials so that I can teach professionally and lead wine tours throughout Europe as a reinvention for the next decade+ of my life. Whoever says “you’re too old to start over” is just wrong, and is living under sad, life-limiting beliefs ;)

Please feel free to ask me anything!

Jamie
