Room description
Hi! I'm looking for a friendly, tidy and respectful new housemate to take over a lovely furnished double room in our peaceful two-bedroom flat in Caversham, Reading. You'll be replacing my current flatmate who’s moving away for work. - Move-in date is flexible.
The Room:
Spacious double bedroom with a bonus small single room attached – perfect as a home office, walk-in wardrobe, or hobby room
Comes fully furnished:
- King-size bed with four under-bed drawers
- Two dressers
- Nightstands
- Two large coat racks
The House:
- Quiet, well-kept two-bedroom house
- Shared with just one other person (me!)
- downstairs has a living room and front office / alternative art exercise space if you are into yoga this area is perfect for use. I am using it for an office during the week. But easily converted for most activities.
Kitchen with oven microwave plenty of storage and space.
Me:
I’m a very sociable, easy-going professional with an engineering/science background. I work mostly from the office (occasional WFH) and like to keep the house clean, relaxed, and homely.
I love art, culture, films and cooking new dishes, exploring new places. I value a calm space but also enjoy socialising when it suits. My interests and hobbies include, cycling and keeping fit, chess, physics, psychology, to name a few.
Looking for a respectful, tidy, and friendly housemate ideally another professional who wants a comfortable and welcoming home.
The location:
- Set in the heart of beautiful, safe, and vibrant Caversham
- Just 5 minutes’ walk to the River Thames perfect for walks, runs or weekend picnics
- A short stroll to independent cafes, restaurants, pubs, and shops
- Great local community feel with the convenience of Reading town centre just across the bridge
- Around 15–20 minutes’ walk (or short bus ride) to Reading Station – with fast trains to London Paddington (~25 mins)
The Contract:
- You’d be taking over the current lease, which runs until August 2026
- There's the possibility to renew or extend the lease after that if we're both happy
- The property is managed by Farmer & Dyer, a professional and responsive local agency
- References will be checked by the agency as part of the application process
- Deposit is £895.00
- Bills: ~£200/month each (includes council tax, energy/gas, water, Wi-Fi)
