Hi there! Abdullah here. I'm a full-time professional with an office-based role--as Digital Assessment Lead in a team reimagining high-stakes school examinations--at Cambridge University Press & Assessment.
I'm currently living in Queen Edith's, and am searching for a long-term let in CB2/CB1, ideally one that is a quick bus ride or bike ride away from my office on Shaftesbury Road (CB2 8EA), which is south of the Botanic Garden.
My main concerns are the location and an en-suite room. I'm pretty flexible about other amenities, although a washer+dryer would definitely be a plus.
As my role is office-based, I'll only be at the house during weekdays in the evening. I don't own a car and don't plan on buying one anytime soon, so parking isn't a concern. I don't smoke but don't mind being around people who do.
A bit of background about myself:
I'm originally from Islamabad, Pakistan, but I've pursued both my undergrad and postgrad degrees in the US, at Haverford College and Harvard University respectively. I'm passionate about educational equity, and have worked in education research and programme management for over a decade. I also work out and run fairly regularly.
I was a big sports fan during my 20s and used to religiously follow the premier league, tennis, the NBA and the NFL. I've now watered down my viewing habits because of the time commitment, but still try to make time during the weekend. Flatmates who also happen to be sports fans and up for watching sports together will be a bonus.
I'm flexible on the total budget but it really should be the ideal location with great amenities to justify anything beyond 1100.
